Building Permits

Building Permits are required for any structure that is being built or modifications to structures or additions. For questions please contact City Hall at (316) 772-5151.

Building Permits must be filled out and submitted to Sedgwick City Hall for approval.  You may send completed permit forms janise [at] cityofsedgwick.org (via email). Payments may be made online. Please contact City Hall for amount. To apply for a variance, please fill out the Variance Form (instructions) and submit to Janise with a payment of $100.

If you have a sprinkler system that is attached to City water, you must have a backflow prevention device to prevent cross-contamination of our municipal water source. These devices must be checked annually and the inspection form turned into City Hall. Form available at City Hall or click here to download form. Print form and send to:

Fireworks Sales Ordinance

Sales and Solicitation Application

On December 1, 2014, Sedgwick City Council approved Ordinance #834 amending the code regarding door-to-door sales, transient merchants and other peddlers within the Sedgwick city limits. The city takes great care in protecting the privacy and safety of our residents.

If you wish to continue solicitation in our community, please return the completed form with required photocopies and fees to City Hall.

Utility Vehicle Registration Application

There is an annual registration fee of $25 due by January 31st to operate an UTV within the city limits. The fee may be paid online, in office, or in the drop box. Once the application is filed, Sedgwick Police Department will do an inspection of the golf cart/utility vehicle to verify that all tail lights, head lights, slow moving sign, and turn signals are in operable condition. Once approved, a tag will be issued.

Garage Sales Ordinance

Contractor License

The adoption of Article 6. Contractor Licenses into the municipal code requires licensure for each builder, building contractor, or general tradesman performing work within the city limits. A listing of the contractors licensed to do business in the city can be obtained at city hall. The full code and application can be found here
