The City has an opportunity to receive funding through a Grant from the Dept. of Commerce for new playground equipment, extend sidewalks and update park bathroom.

This opportunity doesn't happen very often so it's up to you to help us qualify. Please fill out the LMI Survey that was mailed to you a few weeks ago. We need to have 81% of surveys returned! Please turn it in by Friday, May 15th! Call City Hall 772-5151 or stop by if you need a survey!

The City has recently updated its account with CodeRED Weather Warning service. This is an opt-in only weather warning product that taps into the National Weather Service's Storm Based Warnings. CodeRED automatically alerts affected citizens in the path of severe weather just moments after the warning just moments after a warning has been issued.

Sedgwick was incorporated in 1872 and is located in south central Harvey County on the border with Sedgwick County. The location of Sedgwick is within a triangle formed by the cities of Hutchinson, Newton, and Wichita. This is an ideal location to attract residents who want the pleasures of small town living while being close to big city jobs. Sedgwick's goal is to grow slowly in population so that our small town amenities remain. Sedgwick is well positioned to reach this goal. New housing is being developed, along with offering 2 industrial parks and a local school, USD 439. The schools and city work together and have set their sights on these same goals.
